In
keeping with The Good Hope School belief that youngsters
learn best when they are happy, the colorful classrooms
of the Primary Grades provide a cheerful, reassuring homeroom
setting. The focus is on nurturing and fostering development
in all areas.
In small groups, students begin to structure their lives
with a sense of well-being. The day is divided into periods
of academic work and creative expression aimed at enhancing
a child’s ability to interact with others.
Basic learning in these primary years sets clear patterns
for future academic growth, both in fundamental skills and
in the more elusive areas of curiosity and motivation. Reading,
writing, and mathematics are taught thoroughly, and creative
activities are important parts of the basic program.
The Primary Grade classrooms are self-contained. The basic
curriculum is supported by special subject teachers in art,
music, computer, Spanish, and physical education.
The Good Hope School Early
Childhood Program for 2 ½ to 5 year old children

Better two miles east of Christiansted. This facility,
occupying a thoughtfully repurposed house, provides spacious
classrooms and a large outdoor playground for our East
End students. Frequent visits to the Good Hope Main Campus
for assemblies and events are part of the East End curriculum.
