Fabian Tobierre, a Good Hope Senior, has earned the place of finalist in The National Achievement Scholarship Program® competition by the College Board. This designation is in recognition of his exceptional achievement on the college-level exams. The Board reviews all applicants' academic achievements, personal essay, and counselor recommendation as well as exam scores. Fabian was one of 1,600 students across the entire nation to be selected as a semifinalist, along with another Good Hope senior, Bobby Thompson.

The Achievement Scholarship winners will be announced in late February 2007. The selection of some 800 students is now in progress. These awards will be offered to outstanding Black American students. Scholarship offers to winners will assist with college expenses, and the title of Achievement Scholar® will help identify the student during college admissions.

Fabian will be acknowledged during an Upper School gathering on Wednesday, February 7, 2007. He is applying to Syracuse University and Rochester University of Technology in New York, and Bucknell in Pennsylvania.
