After Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans, the students of Good Hope School are coming together again to raise money through a variety of events such as car washes, bake sales, a share-your-change- day, and now a Katrina Coffee House. The overall goal is to raise $1000.00. Students from first to twelfth grade have raised over $900.00. This Thursday, September 29, from 6 until 8 p.m. in the Ward M. Canaday Library at Good Hope School is a music and poetry filled coffee house open to the public. During the event everyone will be able to enjoy live New Orleans style jazz and blues, and poetry read by the students, and of course enjoy delicious coffee, teas, and food. There is a $2 cover charge per person to raise the most funds possible. Good Hope students are encouraging the community to come together and support their efforts toward making a difference in the lives of those who need help. All proceeds are supporting the American Red Cross Katrina Disaster Relief. |
