The Department of Planning and Natural Resources, Division of Coastal Zone Management invited students Jennifer Nelthropp, ninth grade, and Nerissa Eimer, tenth grade to represent Good Hope at the Coastal Zone Management conference today.
The Student Oceans Conference, "Caribbean Coastal Threats and Protections; Our Oceans: Here Today, Gone Tomorrow." is being held today, December 9 th , at Gertrude's Restaurant from 9am to 3:30pm.
Topics selected for presentation include: St. Croix East End Marine Park, Comprehensive Land and Water Use Plan, and Non Point Source Pollution. Students will be grouped during the afternoon session and charged with creating a group presentation based on one of the given topics.
This conference is designed to enlighten, inform and expose high school/college students in the Virgin Islands to some of the many tasks and responsibilities associated with the Division of Coastal Zone Management. |
