Good Hope School's Caribbean History class is organizing a drive to gather goods to be shipped to the people of Grenada in their time of need.
The Upper School class, taught by Anne Ogg, has compiled a list of suggested items for each grade to collect in order to provide a variety of items. Students in each grade level are asked to provide a specific type of supply such as batteries and flashlights from the Kindergarten, board games and puzzle books from the 2 nd grade, canned goods from the 9 th grade, and tools from the 11 th grade.
Alisha Udhwani, a student representative of the history class, has drafted a letter to all of the parents and guardians of GHS students asking for their participation in this project.
On Friday, October 1 st , all donated items will be included in a shipment, provided by O'Neale's Transport, scheduled to leave the following Wednesday, October 6 th .
As we all live through this hurricane season, we know how important it is to reach out and help those whose lives were dramatically changed by the storms of this season. Good Hope has an emphasis on community service, and with this outreach to Grenada, students are able to help others in a time of need. |
